I believe I’ve always known I wanted to be a teacher! As a child, and into my teenage years I thought that learning and knowledge could be much more exciting and fun if teaching would be more passionate and exciting. I wanted to go back to my childhood classrooms and do it over—but on the teacher’s side of the desk!

I am from a small Irish family in South St. Louis and was fortunate that my parents made sacrifices so I could attend several Catholic elementary schools and Notre Dame High School. I received my Bachelor’s Degree and teaching certificate at Notre Dame College. I received my Master’s Degree in School Administration from the University of Dayton. I also have Parish Director of Religious Education Certification from the Archdiocese of St. Louis.  Prior to being a principal at All Saints, I taught in Catholic schools in West Alton, MO, Farmington, MO, East St. Louis, IL and Dardenne, MO. I have been principal at St. Stephen’s School, Caseyville, IL and at Our Lady of Loretto in North County, St. Louis. All of my teaching experience and principalship have been in Catholic elementary schools—and I’ve loved every minute of it.

Children, big and small, absolutely delight me and put a smile on my face. Animals of all kinds, especially dogs and cats, bring me great joy and melt my heart. (Currently, my life is being ruled by Suzi Wong, a Pekinese, and Molly Malone, a Bichon Frise.)  I have yet to meet a good book that I couldn’t immediately devour! I enjoy cooking but a baker I’m not! And…saving the best for last…I love my ministry of principalship and the wonderful people and children who “grace” my life at All Saints School and Parish!

Sometimes life comes as a song unsung – waiting to be played, begging to be sung, gently inviting the touch of a kindly hand or the voice of a caring friend. The mystery of a song begs to be shared. I, Deborah, was born with a song in my heart and I am pleased to be called by God to sing God's praises at All Saints School.

I was born in a small town in Southeast Missouri. My parents, Boodles and Muriel, were the proud parents of three girls and two boys.  They sacrificed so much to send us to St. Denis Catholic School in Benton, MO. After high school I attended St. Louis University and earned a BA in Elementary Education. In 1996 I received a Masters of Ministry from Seattle University. I currently hold a Director of Religious Education certification in the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

I am so fortunate to have a wonderful husband, Gordon. We reside in a home in Marthasville, MO with our affectionate dog, Sadie.  We always look forward to spending time with Tami and Josh, our children, who live away from home.

This year begins my 28th year in Catholic education. During my years of teaching I have taught grades 2 through 8 in Illinois and Missouri. I previously was the Director of Religious Education at St. Catherine Laboure and All Saints. I returned to All Saints in 2002 and became the proud teacher of the 5th grade. In January of 2008 I left the classroom to assume the duties of the Coordinator of Religious Education and became a member of the Parish Leadership Team at All Saints. It was an easy transition for me because of my commitment to this school, my admiration and respect for the teachers and staff, and the love in my heart for the children and families of this parish.

This year our school theme is: You are the Voice of God... God Is Here. How appropriate for me because I am aware that once again I am being called to let God's song (voice) be sung through me as I minister in this wonderful place where God and people come together to pray and worship. I am so fortunate and so blessed by God.

I have been employed at All Saints School in this position since 1986. I also graduated from All Saints School as did my husband, my mother and my grandfather. My four children, Dan, Dawn, Darren and Doug received their eight years of elementary education at All Saints. Three of my ten grandchildren have already graduated from All Saints, three more are currently attending. As you can see “I love this school!”

I grew up in O'Fallon, Missouri, the second of six children. I attended Assumption Grade School and graduated from St. Dominic High School.

My husband and I met in high school and married two years after my graduation. We lived in Columbia while my husband finished college. We moved to Kansas City after he graduated and lived there four years. We now have three children, Andy, Allison, and Amy. All three of them graduated from All Saints School.

I was a very active volunteer at All Saints while my children attended grade school, and also worked at various part time jobs. When the opportunity to work at All Saints came up I knew it was where I wanted to be. I have five years under my belt now, and I just love my job!

I have been a member of All Saints parish since 1987. I enjoy reading, exercising, and spending time with my family.

I was born and raised in North St. Louis County and have lived in St. Charles County for more than 15 years. My husband, Mike, and I have been members of All Saints parish since 1996 and currently have 3 sons in school here.

Prior to having children, I worked in the development offices at the St. Louis Science Center and St. Louis University. My youngest son and I started at All Saints the same year, 2008 -- he as a kindergartener and me as a secretary. The energy and enthusiasm I see in the students each day brings me much joy. This is a wonderful place to be!
