All Saints School strives for a Catholic/Christian atmosphere with high personal and academic standards. It is our belief that a uniform enhances student performance, decreases competition in dress, and is important to the overall discipline and spirit of the school.
Uniforms are required for all students of All Saints School. Full uniforms are to be worn from the first day of school until the end of the school year. Uniforms are to be worn, in an appropriate fashion, on school days, from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Parent/guardians are asked to cooperate and take responsibility in seeing that their child/ren always wear only the regulation dress. Each child must be in complete uniform unless there is a day specifically designated as a non-uniform day. Scouts may wear their scout uniform on their meeting day.

DRESS CODE
All clothing should be of proper fit, should be neat and clean, and respectable looking at ALL times. No dress code can possibly cover all eventualities or possibilities and it should be understood that administration and faculty will have the final decision as to what is acceptable. If a student must be out of uniform for any reason, a note from the parent/guardian must be presented to the teacher before school on that day. The substitute dress should be as close as possible to the dress code, definitely NOT jeans or casual attire. Students not complying with the dress code will receive an out-of-uniform slip which explains the offense and carries definite consequences. This must be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to the homeroom teacher the following school day or the student will move to the next step of the consequences. As explained on the Out-Of-Uniform Slip, repeated offenses will be handled through the discipline code of the administration. (A sample of the slip with consequences follows the Dress Code section.)
SLACKS: must be navy blue twill only (no corduroys), plain or pleated uniform-type. Uniform-type is defined as inside pocket, both front and back, with zipper front (no outside stitched pockets or rivets). Slack legs must be worn the way they are manufactured. Slacks must be belted and worn at the waistline (no oversized slacks). Slack length at leg will not touch the ground. No fadable or fading slacks are allowed. Kindergarteners may wear elastic waist band slacks.
PLAID UNIFORM: All girls in grades K-4 are required to wear the new jumper which can be purchased at Catholic Supply. Girls in grades 5-8 are required to wear the uniform “skorts” (culottes with a flap in front and back). Skorts must be worn at the natural waistline. Uniform may be no more than 3 inches from the top of the knee cap OR 3 INCHES FROM THE CENTER OF THE BACK OF THE KNEE. WAISTBAND IS TO BE FITTED TO BE WORN AT THE WAISTLINE. No rolling of waistband. Waistband is to be clearly visible. When altering, be sure to have the skort worn at the waistline when measuring the 3 inches from the center or back of knee. For modesty reasons, it is recommended that shorts be worn under jumpers.
SHORTS: must be navy blue twill only, plain or pleated uniform-type. Uniform-type is defined as inside pocket, both front and back, with zipper front (no outside stitched pockets or rivets). Shorts must be walking length (cannot measure more than 3-4 inches above the knee) with belt loops. Shorts must be belted and worn at waistline (no oversized shorts). Shorts may be with or without cuff. Kindergarteners may wear elastic waist band shorts.
SHIRTS: must be plain white, red, yellow or green, no emblems, and with a collar. Shirts can be of polo, dress, or oxford style, long or short sleeves. A white turtleneck shirt may also be worn. If a T-shirt is worn under a shirt, it must be plain white and may not hang out from the sleeves of the uniform shirt. Shirts must be tucked in at all times WITH BELT OR WAISTBAND CLEARLY VISIBLE. IF SWEATSHIRT IS WORN, NO BELT IS NECESSARY BUT SWEATSHIRT MUST COVER THE BELTLINE AT ALL TIMES.
SWEATERS: must be plain, navy blue, and fit appropriately. Pullover or cardigan styles are allowed without hoods.
SWEATSHIRTS: must be All Saints School uniform navy sweatshirt which is purchased through school. The 8th grade class may wear the approved 8th grade school navy sweatshirt. A uniform shirt with the collar out must be worn under the sweatshirt.

SHOES: must be closed toe and closed heel flat shoes with a non-marking sole (no sandals, clogs, etc. are permitted). If shoes have laces, these must be tied at all times. Shoes must be clean and respectable looking. Shoes that light up, make sounds or have rollers are not acceptable for school.
BELT: must be a dark, solid color and it is worn with both uniform slacks and shorts. Kindergarten belts are optional. Elastic waist bands are acceptable.
JEWELRY: Earrings are restricted to one stud-like or post earring, one earring in each ear lobe. Earrings may not extend below the ear lobe. One small religious necklace, one watch, and one ring are permitted. Bracelets for wrist and/or ankle are not permitted.
MAKE-UP: Make-up, nail polish and/or artificial nails are not permitted. No tattoos, temporary or permanent, or writing on skin are allowed.
HAIR: No unnatural color is permitted (e.g. blue, purple, green, etc.). Designs or cuts into the scalp are not allowed. No low hanging bangs that block student’s vision – eyes must be visible at all times. Boys should shave as necessary so no facial hair is visible.
IF AN ITEM IS NOT SPECIFICALLY STATED IN THE UNIFORM CODE, IT IS NOT TO BE WORN.
No dress code can possibly cover all eventualities or possibilities, and it should be understood that the principal will have the final decision as to what is acceptable and what is unacceptable.
N.B. A uniform check is held daily during the month of September to help students form good uniform habits early in the school year. After September, weekly checks will be held.
P.E. UNIFORM
It is the responsibility of the student and the parent/guardian to remember the P.E. uniform on the appropriate day. All students in grades 5-8 are required to dress out for P.E. classes. Grade K-8 are required to wear tennis shoes. Dressing out for grades K-4 is optional, but not required. If wearing jumper, girls must wear shorts under the jumper. Dressing out for Grades 5-8 is part of the PE grade.

Shirts: T-shirts are required for students in grades 5-8. The t-shirt must be appropriate and any colored. Uniform shirts and blouses are acceptable for grades K-4.
Shoes: Tennis shoes with non-marking soles must be worn. Shoes must be tied at all times.
CASUAL-UNIFORM DRESS
Certain days during the school year will be designated as “Casual Uniform Day”. On these days, students may choose to wear the official casual tee shirt with UNIFORM SHORTS, UNIFORM LONG PANTS, UNIFORM SKORT, LONG DRESS JEAN PANTS, LONG KHAKI PANTS, KHAKI SHORTS, OR CAPRIS. Long sleeved white t-shirts without writing can be worn under the casual day shirt. All other uniform rules will apply. Students who choose NOT to wear the casual uniform will be expected to wear their regular school uniform.
Students will be required to wear the “casual uniform” for school field trips with shirts tucked in and belt worn unless otherwise specified on the field trip permission form. Sweatshirts are not to be worn over casual day shirts unless specified on field trip permission form. This helps to make our students more easily identifiable in a crowd and will increase the safety of our students.
