Bible verse: Jesus said, "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life."
Thanks to the 6th Grade for leading us in the Mass this morning for the Feast of All Souls. A list of all the people who were buried from All Saints were read before Mass and a bell was rung in their memory. The list also included the names of student and faculty parents that died this past year.
Our big All Saints Paraliturgy was held in the gym on Friday, October 28th.
This year our theme was Saints: Alive in Christ.
Each class chose a person to dress as a saint and then had a member of the class read a statement that said how that saint was Alive in Christ. Many thanks to the teachers and parents that had a hand in dressing the saints. This is one of our favorite prayer times. We are so fortunate to have beautiful music and quiet times to gather and pray in the great circle of saints. Thanks to all the parents who were able to join us!!!!!
Our theme this year is "Alive In Christ."
So begins our new school year and continued growth in faith. We are off to a great start and we thank and praise God for blessing us with the gift of your child/children in our school. God has blessed us and keeps blessing us with Holy Presence. To recognize God’s presence in ourselves and our children can only leave us in awe. You are the first example, the witness and guide of your child’s faith life which is at the heart of his/her spiritual growth. At All Saints School now for another year we are privileged to partner with you in that responsibility.
As recently as 2005 in the National Directory for Catechesis, our Bishops said:
Parents/Guardians are the most influential agents of catechesis for their children. They have a unique responsibility for the education of their children; they are the first educators, or catechists. They catechize primarily by the witness of their Christian lives and by their love for the faith. Wow! What a great reminder and reflection as we partner together in our Catholic school.
Come by and visit with me, Mrs. Debbie Goheen, as I am priviledge to share life here as the Coordinator of our Religious Education Program.
My door is always open.
Coming Soon: Web links for Religious Education and a text section of the Religion Books used by All Saints students. Also a special section on dates to remember.
Mission Carnival Project for 2011-2012
This year we will work as a school to support the Heifer Project and donate an ARK. We will tie this into our Mission Carnival and games will be centered around different groups of animals that will be donated to the poor all over the world. The Gift Ark goes around the world—South America, Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. Wherever there is hunger, poverty, and hopelessness, the Heifer Project answers the problem with Heifer animals and training. This means that oxen, donkeys, and water buffalo, …cows, sheep and goats, even bees, chicks, and rabbits and more…healthy, hardy animals will go forth and multiply, improving lives for countless families and children, passing on our spirit of faith and charity over and over again in places in the world where it is needed the most. Our mission is to help change the world.
The following classes are learning about the following animals, etc. that we will be donating as we earn $5,000 for the ARK.
