News from the Computer Learning Center
Several parents have asked about how their students will be graded in Computer class. A students receives two grades each day in class, one for Effort and one for Conduct. They also receive grades on Projects. The Projects might be a one day assignment in the lower grades or an assignment that spans several weeks in the upper grades. The Project grades are weighted based on the amount of classtime spent on the Project.
We are looking for a few parents (or grandparents!) to help in the CLC this year, especially in the Primary grades. No special computer skills are required, we will teach you on the job! The class schedule and a sign up sheet will be in the September school newsletter. Please consider helping in your child's class, or in any other class that fits in your schedule.
Don't forget to send in your old ink and/or toner cartridges. There is a red container in the gym lobby, or you can send them into the Computer Lab with your students. We earn cash for technology support, and help keep the old cartridges out of the landfills as well! A few parents collect them for us at their offices. Thanks for your support.
