50 Hour Famine
5/12/2010 3:05 PM
10am June 4th through Noon on June 5th:

Members of the All Saints and St. Dominic High School Shalom will be participating in a 50 hour famine, in anticipation of this year's End Hunger: Walk the World event.

Do we eat to live or live to eat? There is enough food to go around, why are children starving to death every minute? If we are One in God, how can some be stuffed and some be starving? What does it mean, what does it look like to be THANKFUL for the nourishment to which we have access?
End Hunger: Walk the World - International Event on June 6th, 2010
5/12/2010 2:59 PM
Promote the International effort "End Hunger:  Walk the World" on June 6th, 2010 from 1:30 to 4:00pm. on the All Saints Parish Grounds-ALL ARE WELCOME!

The purpose of this event is PRAYERFUL SOLIDARITY - to show that we are interconnected with those who suffer from starvation and hunger-related illnesses. It's a time to use the property as a place to walk in prayer - to be witnesses to the world that HUNGER MUST END.

Every time zone of the global is involved in this effort. Cities across Earth pledge to hold walking events that will last at least one hour so that for a full 24 hours someone in the world is walking to End Hunger. Come and show your solidarity for justice, peace and equality.
Summer 2010
5/12/2010 2:55 PM
SHALOM CLUB members will be tending the Peace Pole Garden during the summer months, wattering the flowers and keeping it beautiful for you. We invite all who come to our parish grounds to stop a moment to pray for peace when you pass the Peace Pole. You may want to pray the mantra that is written on it in English, German, Spanish and Swahili:
"May Peace Prevail On Earth"
Shalom Club membes will resume meetings when school starts again in the Fall.
